Weekly Newsletters - Friday 9th June, 2025

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Part 1 Broadford News

Welcome back. We hope you have all had a fantastic half term with your families. It is hard to believe that we are now into the last half term of the year and we are starting preparations for moving up to the next year groups. We know that the children will enjoy all of the upcoming events for the rest of this summer term.

Transition
Next week the children are going to start thinking  about moving up into the next year group. Each class will be devising a set of questions to ask the pupils in the year group above and the week after next they will be receiving the answers from their peers. This is the first part of our preparations for moving on. We will be providing the pupils with more activities and opportunities to prepare for the next stage of their learning over the coming weeks.

Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week - Monday 9th June - Friday 13th June

As we kick off the last half term of the  school year, we’re excited to introduce our next ‘Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week', on Monday 9th June.

This special initiative is designed to encourage everyone to embrace the importance of being on time, remembering our 'Pupil Job 1', while having a bit of fun along the way.

Pupil Job 1 - Come to school every day on time

Parent responsibility - Ensure that your child arrives for school on time, every day and ready to learn.

Weekly Attendance  Target 96%
Here’s how it works:
📅Daily Prize Draw

Each day of the week, if you arrive at school on time, your name will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a delightful bag of treats! The more days you arrive on time, the more chances you have to win! It’s a simple and fun way to motivate everyone to prioritise punctuality.

🍽️Early Bird Breakfast Treat on Friday:

As an extra incentive, we’ll be hosting a ‘special early bird breakfast treat’ this Friday for all children who arrive by 8:45 AM. Collect your treat from outside the main office before you head off to your classroom.  It’s our way of saying thank you for your commitment to being on time and starting the day off right!

🎉Whole Class Treat:

We want to elevate the excitement even further! Any class that achieves amazing attendance and/or perfect punctuality for the entire week will receive a special whole-class treat. So, encourage one another and show your commitment to being present and punctual!

Remember, arriving on time not only helps you settle in for a successful day of learning, it also sets a great example for your peers. We are excited to see all of you bright and early, ready to learn and participate. Let’s set a positive tone for the remainder of the year and build the habits that will lead us to success!
Best of luck to all, and let the attendance challenge begin!

The Colour Run - Thursday 17th July

We’re thrilled to announce that Broadford Primary will be hosting a Colour Run on Thursday 17th July. This is a fun, vibrant event designed to celebrate our pupils’ attendance and promote fitness, school spirit, and plenty of smiles!

What is a Colour Run?

A Colour Run is a non-competitive event where children can walk, jog, or run through a course while being gently sprinkled with coloured powder at various stations. It’s all about fun and participation—there’s no racing or timing involved.

Is it safe?

Yes! The coloured powder is made from cornstarch and food-grade dyes. It’s non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for skin and clothing. We’ll also be taking steps to protect pupils’ eyes, and volunteers will apply the powder with care.

How to Prepare:

  • Wear white: So the colours really pop!

  • Bring sunglasses: To help protect eyes.

  • Pack a towel or change of top: For a quick clean-up before heading home.

Permission Required

To ensure that all pupils can take part safely, we require a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. This confirms that you understand the nature of the event and grant permission for your child to participate.

Please complete and return the waiver by Monday, 7th July.

Waiver

We’re really looking forward to this exciting event and can’t wait to see our pupils enjoying such a colourful day!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mrs. Stanley. We're here to ensure this is a safe and joyful experience for every child.
