Weekly Newsletter - Friday 13th June

Dear Parents and Carers,

Part 1 Broadford News
Sports Afternoon
Thank you to all of the parents who have attended our sports’ afternoons this week. The weather has been great and the sporting morale high. Well done to all of the pupils for performing their best sporting moves and cheering on their teammates! Good luck to years 5&6 next week.

Transition
The preparation for moving on has started! This week the children have been inquisitive and have come up with questions that they want to know the answers to regarding the next year group. Next the pupils will start to answer those questions and elect a spokesperson to give feedback on behalf of the class.

Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week

Pupil job number 1 - Come to school everyday on time
This was the last Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality week this year, thank you to everyone who made an effort to arrive at school everyday on time. We have hit our target of 96% this week which is fantastic. The overall attendance for the week was 96%. We saw those pupils making an extra effort to arrive before 8.45am to ensure that they get to put their names into the lucky buckets and we appreciate your effort. Keep it up!
Congratulations to the lucky bucket winners, we hope you enjoy your prize bags.
Reception:
Year 1:  Daniel, Apricot & Afrahim
Year 2: Connie, Adelina, and Ashar
Year 3: Ara, Chirag & Lawrence

Year 4: Elliot-Ellis, Veronika & Ava

Year 5: Sophie, Roman & Jesscia

Year 6: Ryan, Faramade & Francesca

Four classes achieved 100% attendance this week, congratulations to Willow, Maple, Rowan and Aspen. These classes have all earned themselves a non school uniform day. We have a few weeks left to keep hitting our target of 96%.

Summer Sun

Apparently and fingers crossed next week we will be enjoying sunny and warmer days. I would like to ask all parents to ensure that children have sun protection applied before they arrive at school. . It is also recommended that children bring caps/hats into school to wear during outdoor times. We will ensure that pupils have access to plenty of water throughout the day to keep them fully hydrated. Thank you for your support and co-operation in this matter.

The Colour Run - Thursday 17th July

We’re thrilled to announce that Broadford Primary will be hosting a Colour Run on Thursday 17th July. This is a fun, vibrant event designed to celebrate our pupils’ attendance and promote fitness, school spirit, and plenty of smiles!

What is a Colour Run?

A Colour Run is a non-competitive event where children can walk, jog, or run through a course while being gently sprinkled with coloured powder at various stations. It’s all about fun and participation—there’s no racing or timing involved.

Is it safe?

Yes! The coloured powder is made from cornstarch and food-grade dyes. It’s non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for skin and clothing. We’ll also be taking steps to protect pupils’ eyes, and volunteers will apply the powder with care.

How to Prepare:

  • Wear white: So the colours really pop!

  • Bring sunglasses: To help protect eyes.

  • Pack a towel or change of top: For a quick clean-up before heading home.

Permission Required

To ensure that all pupils can take part safely, we require a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. This confirms that you understand the nature of the event and grant permission for your child to participate.

Please complete and return the waiver by Monday, 7th July.

Waiver

We’re really looking forward to this exciting event and can’t wait to see our pupils enjoying such a colourful day!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mrs. Stanley. We're here to ensure this is a safe and joyful experience for every child.

The colour run is free for all pupils. However, on the day we are running a lucky bucket competition to win a colour hamper full of activities and treats for the summer holidays. If your child would like to be in with a chance of winning their year group colour hamper please send in £1 to ensure that their name is included in the lucky bucket draw after the colour run!

As our summer theme is colour! We have a fantastic colourful raffle to raise funds for our school. There are many prizes to be won including a super dooper scooter, picnic hamper and sooo many colourful hampers full of treats for all the family. Tickets are and are available from the school office every day and are priced at £3 per strip or 2 strips for £5.
