News & First Week Back

It seems like only five minutes since we returned from the Christmas holiday and here we are wishing you a fun filled Easter break! It has certainly been a very busy 12 weeks: trips to the Royal Opera House, healthy eating topics, Victorian crime and punishment, World Book Day, visits to the Palace of Westminster, Challenge afternoons and the stunning Sharing assembly finale. Now there is some time to recharge ready for the Summer term. We have bouncy castles, trips to Stubbers, the Bug Man visiting, an adventure pathway that will be completed, a new sound garden to be installed and building work to start on the new Junior classrooms. It promises to be an equally busy and action packed term. If I don’t get to speak to you today, I wish you a very Happy Easter and we are all looking forward to welcoming you back after the Easter holiday.

Return to school: Tuesday 22nd April
Breakfast Club will be open from 8am as usual and the doors will open to the rest of the school at 8.30am

First Week Back:
From the very first day back next term we will be getting back to giving the children as much curriculum enrichment as possible. The Bug Man is in to see the EYFS pupils on Tuesday 22nd. On the Wednesday we have a production of Tom’s Midnight Garden for all the pupils. Thursday sees some of the KS2 pupils going up to Drapers to use their PE facilities and we have the Year 5 More Able sessions starting in the afternoon. At the end of the week we have a visit from James Cambell Primary (in Barking) who have heard wonderful things about your children and want to come and see the school for themselves. This week we had a visit from Little Thurrock Primary who wanted to see the EYFS setting and look at the provision we have for Junior pupils. It is this transformation of Broadford – to be a school where people will travel for miles to see what you are doing well – that is so pleasing after all the hard work that has gone in from every member of our school community.

Don’t forget to check the online calendar to be updated on the latest events.
