Day 22 –
share a story or read to a family member
Reading together can be a very relaxing way to bond with someone
you care about. For families, reading together is a great way to spend quality
time with each other. Reading to children or children reading to you can also
be a way to share positive messages with them, and to ensure that they are
learning your family values and traditions, in addition to what they already
learn at school. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, reading to each
other is important because it “stimulates the development of the brain,
language,” and it can also allow you to strengthen your relationship with your
family. Kids can read their favourite book to a sibling or friend who doesn't
know how to read yet. For kids, this is great way to help others through what
they have learned.
You can
accomplish by kindness what you cannot by force.
