Weekly Newsletter - Friday 29th September

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Reception and Nursery children have started full time this week and have all settled brilliantly. We are thrilled that they are part of our school community and we hope that pupils and their families feel at home here at Broadford already.

Diary Dates
On Monday 2nd October pupils in the Harry Potter book club will be watching the first film in preparation for Round 1 of the Harry Potter quiz.
Wednesday 4th sees the first sharing assembly of the year and Redwood are the first class to share their work with us. After the assembly year 6 pupils are taking part in a STEAM powered workshop. Year 5 Willow class are visiting Kidzania for the day. In the afternoon the federation netball team will be taking part in a High 5 netball competition.
On Thursday 5th, Elm class are going to experience Kidzania.
It is Maple’s turn to visit Kidzania on Friday 6th. I am sure they will all enjoy the fabulous opportunities that Kidzania has to offer.

Sharings Assemblies
During the last academic year it was suggested through the parent forum that parents had the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom after the sharing assembly. We think this is a great idea and this year we would like to invite parents to see their children’s work in their classroom. Parents are warmly invited to attend their child’s sharing assembly and afterwards your children will show you their work and give you a guided tour of their classroom so you can experience the learning environment for yourself. We hope that many parents will be able to join us on these occasions to celebrate your child’s achievements.
Please note the sharing assembly dates for academic year 2017-18.

Parents Forum
Many thanks to all of the parents who have signed up so far to become representatives for the parent forum. There is still time if you would like to be a representative for parents in your child’s year group. We are particularly looking for parents in years 3, 4 and 6. If you would like to volunteer to  then please follow the link where you will be able to register your interest by Friday 7th October.

After School Clubs
Clubs start next week on Monday 2nd October. If your child is staying at school for after school club please make sure they are collected at 4.15 pm promptly. There will be signs on the doors to indicate where your child should be collected from. As many pupils will be staying after school for clubs the one way system will be less congested at the end of the day. Many thanks to all parents for their support  and co-operation in this matter.
