Newsletter - Friday 4th May, 2017

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all of the  the year 5 parents/carers who attended the Mersea information meetings on Tuesday.  It sounds as though the children have a really fantastic few days to look forward to! Please ensure that you return the medical information forms distributed at the meeting  to school a.s.a.p.
Diary Dates
Monday 7th May is a bank holiday and the school is closed to all pupils.
On Tuesday 8th we are hosting a Maths league in school, good luck to all of those pupils involved.
Apple class are sharing their work during assembly on Wednesday 9th, we look forward to seeing many parents and carers . KS2 pupils will be treated to a theatre in Education show and year 5 pupils will be taking part in a drama workshop afterwards. Year 6 are having their leavers’ photographs taken for the Romford Recorder on Wednesday afternoon so make sure that your face is clean and your hair is brushed.
On Thursday 10th Nursery children are visiting Barleylands Farm for the day. In the afternoon KS2 pupils are taking over the school in our very first Pupil Takeover Afternoon. Year 1 are going to Mead for their Forrest Schools Session.
Look out on the school blog for all of the above stories.

Royal Wedding Celebrations - Friday 18th May
As you are all aware Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting on Saturday 19th May at Windsor Castle. We are celebrating in school by wearing wedding headwear for the day. Veils, top hats, tiaras, bowler hats & fascinators the bigger and brighter the better! It doesn't matter if they are home made or handed down from grandparents, we are looking forward to seeing all the pupils Royal wedding ready!

Swap Shop - Thursday 24th May 3.00 - 4.00 pm
On Thursday 24th May 2018, we will be holding our first children’s clothing swap shop. A swap shop is a great way to help families support each other, whilst emptying your wardrobe of those unwanted items. Often children grow out of their clothes so quickly, that many parents/carers are left with perfectly good clothes with plenty of wear still in them.
If you have clothes to donate, then we will gratefully receive them from Monday 30th April. To help with the organisation we would appreciate it if clean clothes can be donated in bags, labelled with gender and size.
For hygiene reasons we are unable to accept stained or damaged clothes or underwear/swimwear.
Any clothes which we have left after the event will be donated to a local charity shop. Thank you for your continued support.
