Weekly Newsletter - Friday 18th May

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well done to all of the pupils in year 6 who completed their end of year 6 assessments this week. We are very proud of you as you demonstrated huge amounts of commitment and tried your very best throughout the whole week, all with an amazingly positive attitude. Thank you to the year 6 team who have been relentless in ensuring that the pupils have consistently received high quality teaching. I know they have some exciting projects for the rest of the term which I am certain the pupils are going to love! Have a great day at the Olympic park, you all deserve it!

Diary Dates
Monday 21st May is the first day of our walk to school week.On Monday afternoon, some of the year 5 boys will be taking part in their outdoor adventure activities.
On Tuesday 22nd there will be a walkers’ breakfast available for anyone who has walked to school on that day. In the afternoon Year 6 have a workshop with the Metropolitan Police about keeping safe. The Maths league continues at Broadford on Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday 23rd at 9.00am, the KS1&2 choir will be singing for us during the sharing assembly and the KS1&2 dancers will be sharing their dance skills also. The girls football team are taking part in a tournament at St Ursula’s in the afternoon, good luck ladies!
On Thursday 24th in the morning, the walkers’ will be treated to breakfast when they arrive at school. Year 4 are visiting famous London landmarks and navigating their way around the city. Year 5 will be carrying out some random acts of kindness within the community.
Friday 25th is an INSET day and school is closed for pupils. We look forward to welcoming all pupils back to school after the half term break on Monday 4th June.

Swap Shop - Thursday 24th May 3.00 - 4.00 pm
On Thursday 24th May 2018, we will be holding our first children’s clothing swap shop. A swap shop is a great way to help families support each other, whilst emptying your wardrobe of those unwanted items. Often children grow out of their clothes so quickly, that many parents/carers are left with perfectly good clothes with plenty of wear still in them.
If you have clothes to donate, then we will gratefully receive them from Monday 30th April. To help with the organisation we would appreciate it if clean clothes can be donated in bags, labelled with gender and size.
For hygiene reasons we are unable to accept stained or damaged clothes or underwear/swimwear.
Any clothes which we have left after the event will be donated to a local charity shop. Thank you for your continued support.

Walk to School Week:  21st - 24th May
Next week is Walk to School week and we want as many pupils as possible to walk to school. If you have to drive or get the bus to school, you could park further away and walk or get off the bus a few stops before your normal bus stop. The walk to school is the perfect opportunity for some quality family time or a good chat with friends which will help develop strong and happy relationships. There are also numerous health benefits of walking to school too!
Walkers' Breakfast
On Tuesday 22nd May and Thursday 24th May, we will be having a walkers' breakfast. If you walk to school, you will get a delicious treat when you arrive so that you are ready to learn when you get to your classroom.
We look forward to welcoming as many walkers as possible into school next week!
