Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls
As I am sure many of you are aware our new building is now complete and classes have been moving in over the last half term. Again, many of you will be aware that the current start and end of day arrangements have been temporary. They have been in place for some time now, but have always been temporary arrangements to see us through the building work. However, we are now in a position to be able to return to the previous arrangements. Please see below for information regarding your child’s year group.
Nursery
Nursery pupils and parents will enter and exit the nursery via the nursery front door.
Reception
At the beginning and the end of the day reception pupils and parents will enter and exit the building using the door to the right of the office.
At the end of the day parents can exit using the ramp or if you have other pupils to collect you will need to exit the reception play area and make your way around the back of the building to the other classrooms. Then walk through the playground and use the Faringdon Avenue gate to exit the grounds.
Year 1
Year 1 pupils will enter the same door as reception pupils in the morning and make their way to their classrooms on their own as they have all year.
At the end of the day parents will enter the gate on Farringdon Avenue and make their way around the back of the school to the classroom doors. Once pupils have been collected please make your way back towards the gate on Faringdon and exit the grounds here.
Years 2-6
The gates on Faringdon Avenue will be opened at 8.00 am in the morning and 2.30 pm in the afternoon. Parents and children will be able to come into the waiting area. The gates will be opened at 8.30 am and pupils will be able to walk through the playground and make their way to their classrooms for the start of the day.
At 2.30pm the gates will be opened for parents to come in and wait and the inside gates will be opened at 2.55pm where parents will be able to walk through the playground to the classroom doors. After collecting your children please walk back through the playground towards the Faringdon Avenue gates to exit the grounds.
Parents will no longer need to walk through the school at the end of the day.
Pupils in year 5&6 who walk home or meet parents at a specific spot will be dismissed from their classes and will make their way through the playground towards the Faringdon Avenue gate. Please arrange a suitable place to meet your child.
Breakfast Club
The side door will be opened at 7.45am for pupils wishing to attend breakfast club and will close at 8.25am. Children will not be able to enter the building via this door after this time.
After School Clubs
Current arrangements will remain the same for after school clubs.
The side door to the left of the office will still be used for access to the hall for assemblies and access to the field for sports mornings.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for their patience and co-operation during the temporary arrangements. We realise that these have been far from ideal, however we are thrilled to be able to move on and enjoy all of the benefits that our new grounds have to offer.
Kind regards,
Mrs L Nicholls
