Cancer Research Race for Life - TODAY!

Our chosen charity for the summer term is Cancer Research UK. This organisation is the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. The vision of Cancer Research UK is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Our youngsters are the generation that could see ground-breaking treatments and cures for cancer in their lifetimes. They are the rising stars who could be the researchers and lifesavers of tomorrow. By taking part in Race for Life and uniting together against cancer, they’ll be doing something really special.

We will be racing for life TODAY. Throughout the day children complete the 1 - 1.5km course on the school field with their classmates and collect sponsorship money for their efforts. Please send any sponsorship money into school today in an envelope labeled with your child’s name and class.

Pupils should arrive at school at the usual time wearing their PE kits so that they are ready to go. As it has been very warm weather this week it would be a great idea for the pupils to bring in hats and have applied sunscreen before they come to school. We will make sure that their water bottles are full up in school so that they can have lots of water after racing.

I have no doubt that this is going to be an enjoyable event for all and together we’ll be an unstoppable force against cancer.

Thank you for your continued support and co-operation.
