Dear Parents and Carers,
Half Term
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say well done to everyone for getting through this half term. Thank you for your patience and flexibility. As we are all aware COVID is still here in our community, over the past 6 weeks we have seen staff and pupils test positive with Covid-19. Thankfully, nobody has been too unwell. However, I appreciate how difficult this can be for families and has obviously had an impact on the day to day running of the school.
The pupils always get us through and demonstrate how anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Over the past 6 weeks, our pupils have passed their LAMDA examination, earned their bikeability certificates and graduated from their Stepping Up course.
We are all looking forward to the next half term when, hopefully we can see the return of Broadford University, staff are already busy preparing a fabulous week of events for World Book day to celebrate 25 years and to make up for the last 2 years. We will be encouraging pupils to travel to school sustainably and, of course, celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. As well as the launch of our new website.
Lots to look forward to and we are most definitely looking forward to welcoming all of the children back to school on Tuesday 22nd February.
Covid- 19 Guidelines
We do still have positive cases reported within our community. Please remain vigilant and do not send your child to school if they are displaying symptoms of Covid-19. We continue to encourage pupils to practice regular and robust hand washing throughout the day and are keeping areas ventilated.
From Monday 17th January the government have changed the rules regarding self isolation. On day 5 and onwards if you or your child have received two negative lateral flow test results 24 hours apart and are no longer displaying symptoms then you can break your isolation periods.
If your child cannot attend school because they are unwell or self-isolating please inform us as soon as you can. You can call the school office on 01708 342880 or email the school office via office@broadford.havering.sch.uk.
Thank you for your constant support during this time and I have no doubt that by the time we return we will have a new set of guidelines to get used to. I will, of course, inform you of this as soon as I am aware of any changes.
