The Cat in the Hat - World Book Day, Thursday 3rd March

On Thursday morning when the children entered their classrooms, they were greeted by a poem from the Cat in the Hat!

The Cat in the Hat, Thing one and Thing two challenged all of the Broadford pupils to a game of hide and seek!

“Today is World book day” said the Cat in the Hat.  "I know some good games we could play," said the Cat.

"I know some new tricks" said the Cat in the Hat.

"A lot of good tricks. I will show them to you. Your mother will not mind at all if I do."

“I call this game FUN IN A BOX” and he got up on the top!

“In this box are two things I will show to you now. You will like these two things" said the Cat with a bow.

"I will pick up a book. You will see something new. Two things, and I call them Thing one and Thing two. These Things will not bite you. They want to have fun."

Then, out of the box came Thing Two and Thing One!

“Now, here is a game that they like,' said the Cat.

"They like to hide and seek," said the Cat in the Hat.

Thing one and thing two! They hide here! They hide there!

“Now you must go seek them, they could be anywhere!”

The Cat in the Hat said in a whisper “they are hiding in your classrooms!" whilst stroking his whisker!

“If you find both these Things before half past two, you will get a new book from Thing one and Thing two!”

“Now go and play hide and seek with Thing two and Thing one. Just remember today you must have lots of fun!”

The Cat in the Hat said, "Right! That is that." And then he was gone with a tip of his hat.

These children played hide and seek in their classrooms found Thing one and Thing two and earned their class a new book.
Each class received a new book which was one of the titles from the 105 books to read before you leave Broadford booklist.
Now that it what we call a great World Book Day, 2022!
