Reminders & News

Spelling Books & Reading Records:
It is vital that the children bring in their spelling books every week. Last term we saw a marked increase in the number of pupils remembering to complete their spellings every night and bringing the book back to show their teacher.

Likewise pupils should be reading for at least 15mins every night, preferably to an adult. This should then be recorded in the Reading Record book.

Prizes and rewards are available for both: certificates, book marks, trips to London, pop corn & DVDs, trophies and vouchers!

Clubs: Restart 20th January
There will be NO CLUBS until the 20th January. Reminder letters about which club your child is in will be sent out very shortly by Mrs Charlesworth.

Punctuality & Collection Times:
A New Year reminder – in case you are in need of a resolution – that all pupils should be in school by 8.55am. If you arrive after this time, Mrs Taylor will be keeping a tally of minutes lost so that it can be passed on to the Educational Welfare Officer. Likewise all children should be collected at 3.15pm. I know that the vast majority of you do this, but we have had cases where children have been left until 5.00pm and still no adult has appeared to collect. If your child is in a club, collection is at 4.15pm. If you are persistently late picking up your children then we may refuse to let them attend clubs and pass the information on to Social Services and the Educational Welfare Officer.

Uniform & PE Kits:
Mrs Taylor is currently awaiting a new order of school uniform. Once it is in we will inform you via the Facebook page and the website. We are still having lots of children come to the office as they have no PE kit. They just need a plain white t-shirt, navy blue shorts and trainers/plimsolls.

Dinner Tickets:
A reminder that dinner tickets are on sale every Monday and Wednesday from 8.30am – 9.00am. It is not possible to purchase dinner tickets from the office as they are held in the kitchen by Mandy.

Swimming for Year 5:
Unusually the swimming for Year 5 started back today, which means that it will of course be on next week too.
