At Broadford we believe that our pupils should be inspired to aim for a professional career. We believe that - through engaging, purposeful and exciting learning opportunities - we can help them to realise their potential so that they have the power to choose the career path that suits them best.
In order to do this we have visitors come into school to talk about careers and visits are planned to give them the chance to see what different work places are like: hospitals, banks and law courts.
What is Kidzania?
Imagine a 75,000sq.ft child-size city where kids are in charge! KidZania has recently landed in Westfield London and it was the perfect place to take our Year 5 pupils to experience a wide range of jobs.
Our pupils have told us that they have dreams of becoming pilots, firefighters, engineers, award-winning singers. Watch the excitement on their faces as they tried out more than 60 real life role-play activities in the bank, on stage or fighting crime on the streets as a police officer!
Each of the role-play experiences were crafted to teach our pupils essential life skills including financial literacy, team work and independence.
It was amazing to go inside the pit lane of a Formula 1 team. I learnt about the role engineers play in creating the super fast cars. I even got to have a go at changing a tyre.

I liked being a DJ for the radio station. We had to be confident at speaking and able to work the computers. I can see why Mr Drakes keeps asking us to speak clearly. If you don't the audience won't be able to understand you.
