Reading Awards

Why do we run Literacy Trust Projects?
In 2014 research showed that nearly half of children and young people aged 8 to 18 in the UK read magazines outside class at least once a month. Those that read magazines were more likely to report they enjoyed reading and read more frequently and more read above the expected level for their age compared to their peers who did not read magazines.

We also know that children and young people who enjoy writing very much are seven times more likely to write above the level expected for their age compared with children and young people who do not enjoy writing at all.

How do we do it?
