Weekly Newsletters - Friday 27th January, 2023

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls
Dear Parents and Carers,

Fundraising Committee
Lots of parents have expressed an interest in joining a fundraising committee to raise vital funds for the school. We are intending to host a summer fete on Saturday 8th July, 2023. If you would like to join the fundraising committee please complete the form below  with your details.

Industrial Action
As you will be aware the National Education Union has announced industrial action with the first day being Wednesday 1st February. Staff do not need to decide if they are taking part until the day and we are not allowed to insist that staff inform us if they are participating, nor even inform us of which union they are part of.

As you will understand, we are unable to plan for either school within The Learning Federation to safely open with potentially the entire teaching staff being absent on this day, in 2 large schools with over 1300 pupils. We are therefore taking the decision that it is not operationally safe for us to open the school on this day to all pupils and both Broadford and Mead primary schools will be closed to all pupils on Wednesday 1st February.

“Love the HIll” Community Day
On Saturday 4th February, there is a family fun day at MyPlace. This is a community event where local residents have the opportunity to share their views and meet others working and living in the local area. It is a family event and there are creative activities for everyone to participate in. There is also the chance to win a £50 voucher. The event is running between 11 am and 2 pm at MyPlace, 343 Dagenham Park Drive.
