Boys Football: Broadford 3 v Mead 2

A strong start to the match saw Ife, after only the first five minutes, chip the ball over the keepers head to put Broadford ahead 1-0. Two good saves from Donavan kept Mead at bay, although after 20 mins - against the run of play - Mead managed to level the score 1-1.

A few short passes between Yinka & Ife and acurate strikes on goal from Jordan & Fletcher forced the Mead goalie into some good saves. Tension built just before half time as Broadford were awarded a penalty which Taheeb struck cleanly but unfortunately just skimmed over the bar.

Broadford’s second goal came from a corner that after a strong header by Yinka. Although the initial strike narrowly missed the goal, the ball rebounded off of the post for Taheeb to place in the back of the net 2-1. After an evenly matched 2nd half another fine pass saw Jack run onto the ball to score his 1st goal of the season 3-1 Broadford.

Strong defensive play by Bailey and a great effort from Donavan could not stop Meads 2nd goal which was hit firmly from just outside the area. A well supported match was enjoyed by all & a well deserved win for Broadford!
