Fact Hunters: Mona Lisa, frogs and butterflies

Sophie Lewis
Did you know that some butterfly species prefer other food than nectar. Viceroy, Red-spotted Purple, Hackberry, Tawny Emperor and Red Admiral butterfly species will drink decaying fruit, tree sap, manure, and decaying animals before they will drink nectar from flowers… YUCK!

Emma Groom
Emma has been finding out facts about the Mona Lisa. Did you know that Da Vinci started painting it 510 years ago? On August 21, 1911, Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, one of the most famous paintings in the world, was stolen right off the wall of the Louvre (a French art museum)!

Fitzroy BamgBelu
Did you kow that the common frog female lays 1000-4000 eggs at a time? Frogs can spawn as early as December and as late as April, depending on how warm the weather is. They prefer to lay their eggs in shallow, still water.

Melisa Krasniqi
