A huge thank you to all the parents, Governors, staff, friends, community volunteers and of course the Friends of Broadford who contributed to making the school fete such a success. Although the sun wasn't shining, we saw a great turn out. Not only did a significant number of families make the effort to attend the event, we also had some very special guests.
The Mayor came to open proceedings, tour the school and even throw a few sponges at Mr Drakes. The local fire station came out to support the event. Eager to capture some images of the occasion, the Romford Recorder sent along a photographer and the Starshine Dance Group put on a special show.
With climbing, face painting, bouncy castles, stalls and 'Soak the Headteacher' to choose from there was plenty for the children to do. The best part of the afternoon was seeing the strength of community spirit in the school. An event like this can only happen when everyone chips in and does their part.
Now we can look forward to and plan for bigger and even better events so that the pupils get even more out of their school.
Thank you once again to the Friends of Broadford for organising it all.
Was a really good afternoon kids really enjoyed it
