Today saw the first ever cook off between Hilldene Primary & Broadford Primary. Ten budding chefs from both schools were pitched against each other in a battle of the kitchens. Armed with spatulas, frying pans and freshly chopped parsley the Broadford cooks (Green Team) created some culinary masterpieces.
Are you a fan of Italian food? Do you enjoy a spicy meal to warm you up on a winter's night? Well these dishes would have been for you. Both teams made excellent use of fresh ingredients to ensure that the dishes were tasty, healthy and nutritious. It was great to see all the little touches... clearly they have been watching Masterchef.
Would you believe that 10 year olds chose to prepare Lyonnais potatoes with sautéed mushrooms? Well they did, and my goodness the Hilldene recipe was mouthwateringly good. In reply, Mia Rose whipped up some fresh batter mix and produced some sugary sweet pancakes.
An incredible effort by both schools, and we look forward to more events in the future.
Keep an eye out for more photos of this event.
Notice how the children made sure they had garnished the dish
Hilldene created a delicious stuffed pepper starter
The Spanish Chicken prepared by the children was mouthwatering
Broadford's Chilli Con Carne. Look at the way they cupped the rice - what attention to detail!
