Welcome back to the new term. We have a large number of events and activities planned for the children, in what will feel like a very short term. Visits to Hampton Court Palace, Circus Days, trips to the IMAX cinema, Build a Bear workshops and singing at the O2: a great variety of experiences for all the children to learn from and enjoy. A full list of all the dates currently available is attached to this newsletter. All we expect of the children is that they uphold the three school values in their everyday life at Broadford:
1. Turn up every day on time
2. Do your best in every lesson
3. Be kind and polite to everyone you meet
Parent Council: Thursday 15th January 2pm
We have the second Parent Council meeting of the year (the sixth overall) on Thursday afternoon next week. It is a forum intended to allow us to discuss with you, in more detail, ways in which we can work together to further improve the school for your children. There is no membership requirement, the makeup of the group changes from one meeting to the next, so please feel free to come along if you are able to spare the time.
Diary Events
Clubs start next week. You should have received a letter informing you which club your child is in for the new term. We have the first of five Literacy sessions for parents in the Conference room on Monday morning. In the afternoon our KS1 Spinebreakers are off to Hilldene Library. Year 5 will be welcoming a Viking visitor to school on Tuesday and in the after school we have a netball match against Brookside Junior. Wednesday is Circus Day in EYFS with show for parents in the morning and afternoon – please see the EYFS newsletter for more details. The school nurse is also back for a continuation of the drop in sessions. Our next Parent Council meeting is on Thursday afternoon at 2pm. On Friday we have the first of the Broadford University sessions – which are explained in more detail below.
