Boy's Football Result: Broadford 0 - 5 St Edward's

With the sun piercing through the dark April clouds, the teams were able to play their league match. Although rain had been falling since early morning, the pitch was perfect. Alfie led the centre of defence in the first half and encouraged the rest of the boys to tackle confidently. St Edward's (who have done very well in the league so far) managed to create a a chance down the right wing. However Lemar provided an excellent challenge. Free kick to Broadford.

Unfortunately the resulting cross field pass bobbled and fell to a St Edward's striker. With a thumping, bouncing shot he managed to score past Bailey - 0-1 St Edward's.

Playing up front, Myles was a constant thorn in the side of the opponents defenders. Hassled by his runs, they almost made a crucial mistake. Despite the pressure, no goals resulted and the boys cam into half time 0-3 down.

In the second half, Tommy came on to play a holding role in midfield. Tackling, running and passing he was soon looking rather red in the cheeks. It made a difference though, and Broadford began to get back into the game. Bailey then came into his own producing a string of fine saves. First a penalty... SAVED! Next came a one on one chance for St Edward's... SAVED! Within moments they had broken through again, the striker shot... SAVED!

Thanks to Bailey's fine work in goal the final score ended Broadford 0 - 5 St Edward's.

The next home game is against Gidea Park on Thursday 19th April KO: 3.30pm
