Reception School Places 2020 - A warm welcome to Broadford

Children starting school in September 2020

A warm welcome to all families that have been offered a Reception place for their child at Broadford Primary School. Thank you for choosing Broadford. We look forward to your child starting their school journey with us in September and getting to know them as the wonderful individuals that they are!

As a school, we are committed to smooth and timely transitions that allow each child to settle in, get to know their teachers and make new friends. We believe parents and carers play a key role in this transition so you too can feel reassured that your children are safe and happy. We can only imagine that during this time of uncertainty, the natural worries and anxieties that occur when children are about to start school are increased. However, please let us reassure you that we are planning ways in which we can prepare your child and give them the best possible start to school.

Starting school is a milestone for both you and your child. It is a time to be celebrated. Whilst we understand that current measures make this more difficult, we will do everything we can to ensure it stays that way and is a positive experience for everyone. We will be in touch over the summer term (once all places have been confirmed) to inform you of our plans. Please refer to the Local Authority guidance below to ensure you accept your place by 30th April 2020.

At Broadford, we aim to build excellent relationships between home and school. Whilst this may start off as more of a virtual relationship, this remains a priority for us. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information.

For now, please keep an eye on our Facebook page (just Google Broadford Primary School) and website, where we will update you with regular information regarding our school:

We look forward to meeting you all in the coming months.

Guidance from the Local Authority

  • Parents/carers will have received an email during the evening of the 16 April 2020 advising them of the school they have been offered.
  • Parents/carers will also be advised in the email to log back onto the eAdmissions website to accept or decline the school offered by the 30 April 2020.
  • In the event that Parents/carers are unable to view the outcome of their application online, they can contact the School Admissions team by telephone or e-mail from 17 April 2020.
  • Accepting or declining an offer, Havering strongly recommends that all parents/carers accept the school place offered.
  • Accepting a school place does not prejudice the chances of being offered a higher preference later on in the process as the child’s name will automatically be placed on the waiting list for the schools listed higher than the school offered.
  • In the event that parents/carers are offered a lower preference school, Havering will automatically place children on a waiting list for higher preference schools. The child’s name will automatically remain on the waiting list for first Academic term (3 September 2020 to 18 December 2020) unless a parent advises the Havering School Admissions Team to remove them from the list/s.
  • The Havering School Admissions Team holds and maintains the waiting lists for all schools in Havering apart from those that require a Supplementary Information Form (SIF).
