Newsletter - Friday 6th November, 2020

Head of School: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the country starts lockdown number 2 we remain business as usual in school. We do want to ensure that our pupils continue to learn and thrive during this time and we also want to make sure that they are safe. In school we are continuing to ensure that pupils are washing their hands correctly and regularly, keeping workspaces well ventilated and ensuring that furniture and equipment is regularly and thoroughly sanitised.

We would like to ask that parents support us to ensure that all members of our school community are safe. Please ensure that you;

  • Drop and collect your child according to the staggered start and end times. This is so that we can reduce the number of parents in one place at one time. Once you have dropped off or collected please leave the premises quickly so that other parents can do the same.

  • Ensure that your child is dressed in warm clothes. The classrooms will remain ventilated throughout the day.

  • Please use the allocated coloured spots to collect your child to ensure social distancing.

  • We strongly encourage all adults to wear face coverings when dropping off and collecting their children. Our staff will do the same.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to allow parents into school at this time. Please use the email addresses below for all communication purposes.

I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support. Together we are stronger.

Shared mailboxes and communication

In these uncertain times, please remember that the main method of communication with your child’s class teacher is via the shared mailboxes. They are checked daily and can be used to ask questions, pass on information or check details:

Coronavirus
Please be aware that if your child or someone in your household develops coronavirus symptoms then you MUST telephone the school office immediately, or contact through email or facebook messenger, keep your child off school and book in for a test. You can find information regarding symptoms from the NHS here. We will then discuss with you what happens next.

After School Clubs

After receiving the latest amended guidance from the government, we unfortunately have to cancel the planned after school clubs.   The guidance states that after school provision that can only be offered if it's primary purpose is to provide registered childcare. Unfortunately, this is not the primary purpose of after school clubs, it is to provide extra curricular activities. We will have to wait a few weeks more before we can offer these activities. I know this will be just as disappointing for pupils and parents as it is for us. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Children In Need

Broadford will be hosting a very special day to raise money for Children In Need this year on Friday 13th November.

This will include:

  • Non-uniform day with a theme.

  • Joe Wicks’ Ultimate Feel Good Friday.

  • Design a new Pudsey competition to take place within classes.

  • Fun Pudsey themed activities to take part in throughout the day in class.

Non-uniform day with a theme - The theme is polka dots and yellow! The children can wear any spotty clothing they own or if you are struggling to find clothing to match the theme a simple idea would be to draw polka dots on a plain t-shirt. If you would like to add Pudsey accessories to your outfit feel free! We ask that you contribute £1 per family to this great cause if your child is in non-uniform and any further donations are welcome.
This year you can also take part in Act Your Age at home. You can take the age of your child and turn it into a fundraiser. For example, if you are six years old you can read six books in total over six days! You can send any pictures of your child taking part in Act Your Age for us to share.
I am sure that we will all have a fun day raising money for Children In Need.

S.M.I.L.E Christmas Appeal

Many children will not receive anything from Father Christmas this year as they are living below the breadline. Therefore S.M.I.L.E are providing shoe boxes full of treats and delivering them to families who need the most support. Every year the numbers of families in need grow, and as a result of this they are always in need of donations from our community to fulfill this Christmas miracle.

Creating your Christmas box ...

1 - Choose an age and gender

2 - Find a suitable showbox

3 - Wrap with Christmas paper (please wrap lide separately so that the box can be opened easily

4 - Shop for presents to fill your box

5 - Bring your box into school no later than Friday 20th November

All gifts must be new in sealed packages to comply with Covid-19 policies.

Please select an age range for your box from the groups below

Mr Portway

Today is a sad day at Broadford, as we are saying farewell to Mr Portway. Mr Portway has been a wonderful member of staff at Broadford for over 6 years, encouraging us all to be more active and sporty. We are going to miss Mr Portway very much and. I am sure you will join me in sending him many best wishes for the future.

Havering Catering Services

Week beginning 9th November is week 2 on the Havering catering services menu. All meals are served with unlimited salad and vegetables and cost £2.25. Reception and key stage 1 pupils do not pay for school meals as they are covered by the universal free school meal offer.

  2. I really want to thank Dr Emu for saving my marriage. My wife really treated me badly and left home for almost 3 month this got me sick and confused. Then I told my friend about how my wife has changed towards me then she told me to contact Dr Emu that he will help me bring back my wife and change her back to a good woman. I never believed in all this but I gave it a try. Dr Emu casted a spell of return of love on her, and my wife came back home for forgiveness and today we are happy again. If you are going through any relationship stress or you want back your Ex or Divorce husband you can contact his whatsapp +2347012841542 or email emutemple@gmail.com
