Fact Hunters: The Black Prince & Big Cats

The three ostrich feathers (on the back of the 2p coin) can be traced back to Edward, the Black Prince. He bore a shield of Sable, three ostrich feathers argent, described as his "shield for peace".

One definition of "big cat" includes the four members of the genus Panthera: the tiger, lion, jaguar, and leopard. Members of this genus are the only cats able to roar.
