School Council Visit Dersingham Primary

Our School Council had a fantastic visit to Dersingham Primary today. Our Chair of Governors - Gill Gordon - is also the Chair at their school. We were invited by their School Council to go and meet them, have a look at the building and listen to how their Council helps improve the school.

The Dersingham children were excellent hosts. First they introduced themselves, before splitting us up into groups of 6 for a small personalised tours, led by the children. After looking around the site, the children were treated to drinks, chocolate rolls and biscuits - delicious!

Dersingham Primary is certainly a school that contrasts with Broadford. For a start they have over 650 pupils on roll. The building is tucked in a large housing estate, which means they have no field and the playground space is limited.

What they do have is a brand new building to house their new Junior section. Just like us, their numbers have been steadily rising over the last five years. Perhaps the most exciting part for our pupils was getting to use the roof top playground!

"I loved the view from the roof. You could see for miles!" Ellis Curtis Rich.

Have a look at the photos from our visit. The Dersingham pupils will be coming to Broadford in the very near future. We look forward to welcoming them to our school and giving them the grand tour.
