Happy Birthday Broadford Primary School!

2012 is a year of many celebrations. The nation is celebrating 60 years on the throne for Queen Elizabeth and we are celebrating 60 fabulous years of education at Broadford Primary school, and we are going to celebrate in style!

We have fun packed week of competitions, parties, special lunches and activities planned. There is something of interest for everyone and we hope that parents will be able to join in as well!

The fun begins on Monday 28th May with a special assembly and a special birthday cake for the school, which I know we will all enjoy.

On Tuesday 29th May we will be showing our support for Mr Drakes, who is running 10 kilometres in aid of Diabetes UK, however we are not asking the children to run 10k! Each child will participate in 10 laps of a circuit on the school playing field, all we ask is that each child brings 50p to donate to this very worthy charity.

Wednesday 30th May the school kitchen will be hosting their special Jubilee lunch. To show how patriotic we are, everyone can come to school dressed in red, white and blue. Early years pupils will be treated to a party including pass the parcel, musical statues and a party entertainer.

Thursday we are going bonkers! There will be 12 inflatables on the field and the children will have the opportunity to bounce until they can bounce no more.

The grand finale to our celebratory week is Broadford’s Got Talent! The auditions are taking place the red crosses are flashing and the judges are being ruthless. Who will beat the others to the finish line and be the winner of Broadford’s Got Talent? There will also be a special birthday lunch served on Friday 1st June.

Key Stage one pupils will have the opportunity to enter a competition to collect 60 items to decorate the number 60. The children in key stage two will be able to showcase their writing skills and put pen to paper to tell us what they think and how they feel about their school, but they can only use 60 words. No more, no less!

After these festivities, I am sure that you will agree we will all be ready for a well-deserved half term break.
