Fact Hunters: Dinosaurs & Whales

This week we have had a tremendous number of interesting facts being shared by the children. Congratulations to the following children who have amazed us with their ability to hunt out interesting snippets of information:

Yemi Adedipe
Were you aware that the word dinosaur comes from the ancient Greek words deinos ("fearfully great", as in awe-inspiring) and sauros (a lizard). The name was invented in 1842 by Richard Owen.

Iman Mitze
Incredibly humpback whales can reach between 40 and 50 feet in length, and can weigh up to 48 tons! That is more than four times the weight of an elephant.
