We're In The Paper: VE Day Celebrations

Make sure you get a copy of the Romford Recorder as our VE celebrations are featured on the centre pages. Our pupils sang songs from WW2 to each other, enjoyed a street party and recited the speeches of Winston Churchill. At 3pm the children took part in the silence to demarcate the official ending of the war.

The celebrations we saw looked so exciting. The people were crowded around Trafalgar Square and by the Palace. It is hard to believe they are the same places we now go to on school trips!

I liked singing the songs to the other children. They made me feel really cheerful.
