Diary Events

Next week there is a Poetry Week taking place across all the schools in the Harold Hill area. We will then be coming together on Friday 12th to celebrate the children’s work and listen to a poetry recital. On Monday our Year 6 pupils are off to the Royal Opera House to see a full length production of Don Giovanni. Tuesday sees a Stroke Awareness Nurse coming in to talk to the children about stroke prevention and care. In the evening all of the teachers in Harold Hill are coming together for a Teach Meet even to share ideas between our schools and further develop the spirit of collaboration we have been working on. Wednesday sees a Director from Price Waterhouse Coopers coming in to talk to our pupils in Year 5&6 about a possible career in the city and they qualifications they will need. Our school council are off to visit Dersingham Primary school too and the Book Club are out to see the Railway Children in London.

Thursday is when we are hosting Dersingham Primary at our school for a return visit. The Thames Chase Volunteers are back for the third time to continue the work on the round house on the school field. In the afternoon our cricketers are competing at Pyrgo Priory in the Harold Hill tournament and our Year 4 pupils have their rehearsal session for the Poetry Recital on Friday. Finally we have a Reading Volunteer meeting on Friday and the recital with the other schools from Harold Hill… a very busy week!

Reading Volunteers: Friday 12th June @ 9.15am
It is our belief that all of our children should be confident readers by the age of 6. If you are able to volunteer some hours to come and hear the children read it would be much appreciated. Mrs Nicholls will be holding the half termly induction meeting for parents on Friday next week – coffee and biscuits provided.

Sharing Assembly: Mulberry Wednesday 10th @ 9.05am
We look forward to hearing what Mulberry class have been learning about so far this term.
