On February 1st, the School Council visited Pyrgo Priory to hear about what they had been doing to improve their school. Mr Trezise led the children, for what was a very crisp, sunny winter walk up to the top of the hill. All of the attending schools presented information about the charity work they had done. Between Mead, Pyrgo and Broadford, the children have raised money for: Barnardos, Children In Need, Jeans for Genes, Cancer Research, Breast Cancer Awareness and Diabetes UK.
The children then agreed on a charity to support as a group of schools. After a vote, organised by PC Hopkins, they chose Diabetes UK.
Our children also heard about a 'Design A Card' competition which is to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. Details will be given to the rest of the children shortly.
Perhaps the most exciting piece of new was that Pyrgo have an X-Box Kinect to encourage good behaviour and attendance. This was something the children were very keen to follow up at Broadford!
Once again the children were extremely well behaved and a credit to us.
