Year 1&2 Visit Mersea Island

When our Year 1&2 children travelled to Mersea Island as part of their seaside topic, they were blessed with sand, sun and sea shells! Look through the photographs to see the great learning opportunities the children experienced:

The pill boxes were a vital defence during World War 2

All ready to explore the beach

Can you spot the barge in the distance?

Sculptures in the sand

Are you able to spot the crab?

Amazingly the sea had done this just a few days before

In the distance the children spotted beach huts just like the ones they had been making in D&T

Beach scouring is hungry work
